Camping has always been a popular pastime. Growing up as a kid, my family always used a tent, and I'm sure most of you reading this did as well, but recently that relationship of tent and camping has started to change thanks to the introduction of modern hammocks.
There are many advantages of hammock camping over camping in a traditional tent. Here are just a few of them that I have found so far:
Dry: A good tarp or rainfly provides the whole hammock with protection.
Quick setup: Unlike a tent, hammocks can be set up in minutes using hammock straps/rope. All you have to do is find two trees (generally 15 ft apart) and wrap your straps then clip the carabiners onto the straps.
Packing size: A great feature about modern hammocks, is they usually come with a built-in stuff sack. This makes it conveniently easy to fold up and tuck away. They’re small and compact and take up very little space in your pack.
